Seattle, there's a new healthy spot downtown and its decor is as sweet as its menu!
Sweetgrass has just opened in the Metropolitan Tower building next to the federal courthouse in downtown Seattle, and somehow I've already been there twice. I'm a sucka for superfoods, and the Sweetgrass menu is full of local, responsibly sourced and mostly organic fare. I was craving a hot bowl one cold day last week, and the rice pottage hit the spot.
My girls and I tried a few of the salads and desserts at the opening party - all bomb, and mostly gluten-free and vegan! Before our Whistler trip, my boyfriend and I stopped in for a late breakfast where maca oats and amaranth grits hit the spot.
But my favorite thing thus far has to be the green juice. The ingredients rotate daily in order for Sweetgrass to provide the most fresh; today's had kale, mint, cucumber, lemon and apple and it was SO GOOD.
Sweetgrass is now open Monday - Friday 7:00a.m. - 7:00p.m. and Saturday 8:00a.m. - 3:00p.m. You'll probably see me there since it's a block away from work!
