Relax & Refresh at The Spa at Alderbrook

I probably could have spent my entire stay at Alderbrook in The Spa, to be honest. Along with the heated saltwater pool, hot tub, dry sauna, steam room and fitness center, this corner of Alderbrook Resort has everything you need for a day (or stay) full of relaxation and rejuvenation.

We were treated to a full day at the spa. My day started with a custom 90-minute facial that included a Clarisonic scrub and lots of paraben-free, eco-friendly products, followed by a hot oil scalp treatment and 'Eco'-fin (an eco-friendly paraffin alternative) hand treatment.

The ladies and I met up for lunch off the spa menu in the fireside courtyard just outside the spa doors. A refreshing chicken salad and copious cups of mint tea prepped us for the second half of our spa day. For me, that included the Harvest Glow full body scrub and massage, followed by another Eco-fin hand and foot treatment.

The Spa at Alderbrook offers an extensive menu of signature and seasonal services. The Harvest Glow is the most popular seasonal treatment, and it was easy to see why! Available in October, the Harvest Glow (90 minutes, $195) js a softening full body scrub combining organic sugars and natural honey powder. The natural healing powers of wild yam root and chamomile will truly leave your skin feeling soothed and uplifted. The scrub is followed by a luxurious Relaxation massage using rich, natural shea butter that infuses moisture and Vitamins A and E.

Heavenly, right? It's a good thing the only requirements for the rest of the day were a nap and then dinner. I left feeling like my whole body was in the clouds thanks to a spa team that made me feel so at home. Spa manager Ashley Shinkle and her team - like most of the team at the resort -  were another level of friendly and cordial. You can really tell there's a strong community among Alderbrook employees, with many of them holding years of service at the resort (truly unheard of in the hospitality industry!)

I should mention that The Spa caters to resort guests and locals alike. Mini-spa treatments, like this express oxygen treatment we got after our forest bathing excursion, are offered regularly in the lobby and courtyard!

Take a look at the full menu of services, including the other seasonal offerings like a revitalizing collagen facial; pumpkin refresher facial and winter mint body treatment, over on AlderbrookResort.com. Package and couple treatments fall in the range of $315 - $420, which is so reasonable compared to similar spa packages here in the city!
