Summer Skincare Picks - and a Sweet skoah Facial deal!

The first in this roundup is something my fiancé has been using a lot. DomeCare Solutions is a Seattle-based line of anti-aging grooming collection developed specifically for men who shave their heads. The first of its kind! Each product contains an array of gentle multi-functional ingredients to address the distinct needs of head-shavers. The anti-aging property is so key, especially on those hot & sunny days!

Who doesn't love C.O. Bigelow's Rose Salve? I use it as lip gloss all the time, but in the summer I'll also use it on dry cuticles, knuckles, elbows, smoothing hairs, you name it. C.O. Bigelow kindly sent me their rose perfume oil to try as well, and it's been my go-to scent for these summer nights.

I've been a lot more mindful of taking care of my skin in my thirties, and I'm no longer offended by eye creams and anti-aging products. Haha! ToGoSpa helps me keep maintain a good routine in between my facials. Their “Perfect for Anyone with a Face” slogan rings true because all their products are paraben and dye free, moisture packed collagen gel pads. They also contain hyaluronic acid, vitamins C & E, aloe vera and amino acids that work to replenish, rehydrate and rejuvenate skin. Best of all, none of this stuff will break the bank!

It's important to read up on your beauty and wellness routines - and not just what you see in trendy magazines! The Little Book of Healthy Beauty is a handy and quick read, full of stats and tips for living your best life. A couple of my favorite tips:

  • About 70% of chemicals brought into the house come from your shoes. The best plans to clear your air are aloe vera, English ivy, ficus and spider plants.
  • For best vitamin D production, don’t shower immediately after being outside. Wait a few hours to allow the skin to fully convert your natural production of vitamin D.

I love me some skoah. The Vancouver, B.C. - based brand is all about "personal training for the skin", and to me that takes all the frou-frou and frills that make facials and other skin maintenance feel like an unattainable luxury. We can't afford not to take care of our skin, you know? I'm a faithful member and if you couldn't tell by the pic below, I kinda like their products. This is what's currently on my beauty shelf. I'm also known to bring a new product or two every time I go in for a facial! I just tried the Xtreme facial this weekend, which includes a soothing scalp massage and a "foot facial" (scrub and massage.) It was perfect after a busy week and a few runs!

Speaking of facials, you can score a great deal on a 45-minute personalized facial at skoah right now! Get the glow with my deal here.
