Seattle: Gifts & Greens Galore Sale at the Arboretum - Fri 12/6 & Sat 12/7

One of the most beautiful and fairly quiet places in the city is the Washington Park Arboretum. I don't make it there nearly enough, but whether it's just a drive through or a walk to soak up the fresh air there, the scenery and serenity is overwhelming.

This weekend, the Arboretum Foundation is hosting its annual Gifts & Greens Galore sale, today and tomorrow from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. Gifts & Greens Galore is THE place to find the most unique (and most affordable!) selection of cut greens for your holiday home décor needs.

The sale offers a one-of-a-kind selection of locally sourced and sustainably harvested holiday greens, including decorated and ready-to-decorate wreaths, swags, and garlands. You’ll also find a great selection of bulk and unusual fresh-cut greens pruned from plants in the Arboretum and donated to the sale by area gardeners. In addition, Foundation volunteers will create beautiful handcrafted floral wreaths especially for the sale.

Northwest lifestyle and entertaining expert Alexandra Hedin will give a DIY demo on Saturday at noon. She’ll show shoppers how to make a seasonal wreath and fun door swag. Foundation volunteer craft specialists and educators from UW Botanic Gardens will also host show-and-tell activities during the event.
