Two years ago, American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York came together to createFashion's Night Out to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry's economy, and put the fun back in shopping. FNO quickly grew to a global initiative, and now in its third year, the Seattle area is in on the action.
In this first post of the definitive guide to the 2011 Fashion's Night Out gatherings in our region, we're covering the Eastside, where they're bringing you festivities at The Bravern and Bellevue Collection.
Bellevue Collection's got 75 retailers and counting participating in this year's FNO, with everything from parties at Zebra Club and Ann Taylor, complimentary services at Sephora and the Aveda Experience Center, pastry & coffee samples at Starbucks and sweet discounts at Aldo and Report Footwear. Check the full list of discounts here.
There are giveaways and gifts with purchase at the Bellevue Collection FNO, and at Center Court in Bellevue Square, you can dance the night away to the DJ spinning tunes, capture memories with FNO photo booths and enjoy live runway shows featuring the latest fall trends at participating FNO retailers.
Bellevue Collection's crown jewel for Fashion's Night Out is the exclusive exhibit of the Nordic Fashion Biennale: Curator's Cut, premiering in Bellevue Square at FNO and closing October 2nd. The exhibit is an exciting preview of the Nordic Fashion Biennale 2011, coming to the Nordic Heritage Museum from September 30th to November 13th. At the exhibit, you'll enjoy street fashion photography from the Scandinavian capitals, complimentary gifts and fun surprises. View an installation of the creative work of the NFB’s guest curator, New York-based Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardottir, known for her collaboration with Bjork and commissioned work at MOMA in New York, along with others featured in the Nordic Fashion Biennale 2011.
RSVP on Facebook to Fashion's Night Out at the Bellevue Collection to receive the exclusive swag bag.
The Bravern was the only FNO destination in the region last year, and this year it's pulling out all the stops for a chic and luxurious look at the fall trends at Neiman Marcus and Anthropologie. Trophy Cupcakes will be featuring Couture Cupcakes in a runway show, and you can enter to win a year's worth of cupcakes along with the fashions they're featured with.
