If you've read my About Me page, you'll know I started Fresh Jess to share all the fun events & news about Seattle that I was learning in research for my job as events director for the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce (now the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber.) One of my favorite programs to manage were the Young Professionals Network, because it meant I was meeting other business-minded people my age who were looking to make connections and build their networks.
The Chamber's hosting its third-annual All-YPN event next Wednesday at the new Armory at Seattle Center. All-YPN brings together young professionals groups from all over the region for one big night of mega-networking. I'm excited to get back in the fold of Chamber action!
Everything I learned in the early years of my career - about business (corporate, non-profit, small business, startup & government), professionalism, building genuine connections and working hard - I learned during my time at the Chamber. I reference them a LOT, especially lately as I build out my consulting business.
If you're wondering what defines a "young" professional - the Chamber has never discriminated against anyone of course, but YPN is geared to the 21-40 set. Full details on the event are on the Chamber website, and all the pertinent details are below.
