Mila Kunis graces Nylon Mag Dec/Jan Issue

I don't normally post magazine stuff...but maybe I should?

Mila bangs on this month's Nylon Mag cover. I love how they styled her, and I'm super tempted to cop my own leopard coat. Maybe another Nasty Gal purchase?

DELI Seattle welcomes Nudie Jeans

Why are the fellas getting all the fun right now?

Nudie Jeans is making its full collection available at DELI Seattle! Next Wednesday, December 1st, Seattle's denim connoisseurs can get their hands on tops, bottoms and accessories from the Swedish brand. In true DELI form, Max Heigh and team went above and beyond featuring the brand in-store. He's extended the store and created a pop-up within it to truly highlight Nudie's collection.

Denim fiends, you'll love Nudie's manifesto:

We love jeans, a passion we share with everyone who mourns a pair of worn out jeans as a close friend. Jeans share the same soul and attitude as music. The inspiration springs from the same dreams. As a true jeans brand we are not looking for the short-term trends. The inspiration is far from glamour and catwalks. The collection is tight, like a rock band, reflecting the feeling of everyday life.

Design goes beyond creating just a product that serves to fulfil a need or a function. The philosophy of Nudie jeans is to become part of your dreams. Jeans have a natural built-in dream and attitude.

Nudie will stay true to jeans and all about jeans.

I also love Nudie's commitment to organic denim innovation, code of ethics and support of Amnesty.

Come toast Max and the new collection at the Nudie Jeans x DELI Opening Party, Wednesday night at Moe Bar! RSVP at info(at)deliseattle.com. See you there!

Late Night Chameleon Cafe (LL-NC) launches London store

Once upon a time, visual merchandising was a part of my life. Puttin in work on wall setups, window displays and mannequins helps me appreciate a job well done. I get a little envious of unique concepts and one-of-a-kind stores since they can really take a vision and bring it to life. Naturally, Late Night Chameleon Cafe (LL-NC)'s new concept store in London is no exception.

What was once a boxing gym has been transformed by LL-NC into an outpost for its womens' and menswear, books, music and accessories. Not knowing too much about LL-NC aside from what's been written about the store's launch party, it sounds like LL-NC is a stockist of carefully curated designers and indie labels, new to the scene but with an overwhelmingly positive reception so far. Though the London store is open by appointment only, it's not for the haughty and exclusive. It's so each visitor can be talked through the LL-NC store and experience by staff.

Wish I was planning to be over there sometime soon so I can drool in person...

A couple of my favorites from their current lookbook:

Thandie Newton narrates For Colored Girls

I kind of have a girl crush on Thandie Newton. I love that she's been in a ton of high-profile movies (Crash, W, Pursuit of Happyness, Mission Impossible 2, etc.) but manages to stay pretty undercover in American tabloid/pop media. She chooses her roles smartly, getting just enough attention to get praise from her industry but not so much that she gets scrutinized by US Weekly for her "goin to get coffee" outfits. Stay that way please!!!

Here she is reading pieces from the book For Colored Girls, which was adapted for the movie she also stars in. She happens to narrate the audiobook. Thanks Audible.com:

Fresh Style: GNRL.QTRS

Seattle isn't generally looked to for fashion-forward design or innovative style. I think we might even still be fighting the "depressed grunge look" stigma that's been haunting us since the nineties. Regardless, every once in awhile a diamond emerges from the rough.

Enter GNRL.QTRS, the perfect fusion of American menswear classics and utilitarian, forward style. Painstaking attention to detail, fabric, lines and overall quality make this line stand out from your basic mens' button-downs, tees, outerwear and bottoms. Their current collections, At Ease & Assembly, remind me a lot of lines that come out of Japan or New York's couture underbelly. GNRL.QTRS is truly for the man who cares about fit and detail.
