yahoo! is a sinking ship
for a business who's barely keeping itself above water nowadays, why the hell isn't anyone at yahoo doing fucking anything about this? this morning i finally found a my yahoo blog post where the "official" yahoo mail dude left an innocent and naive "happy thanksgiving" where so many other people have been leaving comments about how they haven't been able to log in to their mail either. this fool has been M.I.A. since wednesday!
who thought it would be a brilliant idea for all of yahoo to take the entire thanksgiving weekend off? are y'all really alright with leaving your customers in the dark on what i am sure is one of the busiest emailing weekends of the year?
this is why people love google. this would NEVER happen with gmail - those little google elves work around the clock to make sure shit like this doesn't happen. no wonder yahoo has been digging its own grave over the past few years! if this is the way they treat their customers i'll be surprised if they have any left after this weekend! i already switched all of the newsletters i could remember getting in yahoo over to my gmail.
seriously, fuck you yahoo

never again
i was real pleased with how much our staff raised this year, especially with how tough the economy is right now. it's pretty inspiring!
however, i would just like to put this on the record. trying to rally a staff and create fun events to motivate them to give back is like pulling teeth! some people are so negative, miserable and horribly socially awkward. i really felt like it was living in an episode of the office - ugh!

real talk
this is so amazing. i'm having a hard time putting words together right now. i am so happy to officially say President elect - Barack Obama!putting all of the issues aside and focusing on the humanity of it all - this is the first time a presidential candidate has been able to engage and empower so many different kinds of americans. isn't that where the essence of our country lies - in its diversity? barack obama gives so many individuals from so many different backgrounds the hope that their voice is being heard on a macro level. his campaign rallied young folk like myself to vote - and to CARE about voting - in a way that's never been seen before.
he is the first candidate i have ever been truly proud to call 'my' president. thank you for embodying the change so many people need to see. i am so excited for what's to come.

VOTE! and get free coffee at starbucks
Not just 54% of us, but 100% of us?
What if we cared as much on Nov. 5th as we care on Nov. 4th?
What if we cared all of the time the way we care some of the time?
What if we cared when it was inconvenient as much as we care when it’s convenient?
Would your community be a better place?
Would our country be a better place?
Would our world be a better place?
We think so, too.
If you care enough to vote, we care enough to give you a free cup of coffee.
Come into Starbucks on Nov. 4th, tell us you voted, and we'll proudly give you a tall cup of brewed coffee on us.
You and Starbucks. It's bigger than coffee.
